Pierview Academy is experiencing an exciting time as we are growing both in numbers of pupils and in our positive reputation. Our school provides continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a short to medium term provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and behaviour problems. We cater for young people aged between 11-25. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with young people so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs led approaches with the goal of working towards re-integration progression to a long term educational setting or into employment, education and training. In order to achieve this, we offer part time or fulltime education according to the assessment of the pupil’s needs.

We are looking for a Qualified Teacher who has enthusiasm and passion for working with this challenging area of special educational needs. The post holder will assist the Head Teacher by actively promoting the curriculum policy within the school and assisting others to plan, deliver and assess a range of subjects. They will need to guide, direct and mentor a team of Assistant Teachers and LSA’s working with up to 25 secondary and post 16 learners who have a variety of special educational needs and disabilities. They will also lead by example via teaching their own specialist subject and will help to progress learners to ensure they are achieving their full potential.
