Park View Academy is experiencing an exciting time as we are growing both in numbers of pupils and in our positive reputation. Our school provides continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a short to medium term provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and behaviour problems.

We cater for young people aged between 6-19. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with young people so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs led approaches with the goal of working towards re-integration to a long term setting whether this is mainstream or a special school placement. In order to do this we may offer part time or fulltime education according to the assessment of the pupil’s needs.

We are looking for an Assistant Teacher to deliver lessons to a small group of Key Stage 4 learners. This lead person will be assisted in the planning of a curriculum based on Foundation Learning, ensuring all learners access maths, English, ICT, vocational learning and personal and social development.

The post holder will engage with Key Stage 4 learners to support and assist them in establishing good attendance, positive relationship, a routine, trust and respect for the environment and the people within it. The post holder will guide Learning Support Assistants, ensuring they help to deliver lessons and ensure learners progress and achieve.
